Markwick has exhibited extensively, participating in group and solo exhibitions in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and the USA, including at the Dordrechts Museum (NL), The Gemeentemuseum of the Hague (NL), De Veemvloer (NL), Gallery Tanya Rumpff (NL), the Autocenter Berlin (DE), Galerie In Vorm (BE), and the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica (IT), amongst many other leading contemporary art centers, galleries, and alternative spaces. His work was recently exhibited in dialog with other prominent Berlin-based artists in the exhibition “Geist und Form: Ten Painters from Berlin,” at Indiana University Bloomington’s Grunwald Gallery.
He has been nominated for and awarded numerous prizes, residencies, and grants, such as the Netherlands Royal Painting Prize and the Wim Izaks Prize (NL).  He was twice awarded the highly competitive Basisstipendium by the Mondriaan Fund (NL). His work resides in many private and corporate collections in North America and the EU, including the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp (BE).
